From small early beginnings as a manufacturer of cigarette lighter rings, to the world’s first ever all-electric compact calculator, Casio as a company have been innovators of electronic gadgets ever since. Casio wristwatches are regarded as a pioneering company much like Sony and Samsung for some of their world firsts. Like the first digital camera with an LCD screen and the first ever graphing calculator. The list of achievements goes on.. but aside from all the technological advances, they also produce absolutely amazing wristwatches.

They first produced the Casiotron back in the early 1970’s, from then on they lead the way for digital watches. Many of the features which Casio wristwatches first implemented in their watches have now become industry standard across the world in all major brands. Casio wristwatches produced the databank series in the early 1980s, decades before PDA’s, smart phones, or other storage devices. These were very innovative wristwatches for storing contact information and other data on. They produced a version called the “jet-setter” which allowed translation into many different languages, there was even a version which doubled up as a universal remote for TV’s and VCR’s!

Then more recently they brought us G Shock Casio watches, which became popular with uniformed personnel because of features such as barometers, compasses and more. The G Shock Casio watch became so popular they produced a version aimed mainly at the young generation called Baby G. The Casio Baby G watches had more vibrant colours and designs alongside the many features of the main version.

Today Casio wristwatches come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from classic digital watches to stylish men’s chronograph wristwatches all in a price range that makes them affordable to the average person on the street, unlike many other brands whose price allows only the wealthy to get the many innovative features that Casio watches supply.
